Show Off @ the Junction

Starting October 18, the Junction will play host to 'Show Off'. All the cool guys from the neighbourhood with stores (like me) are teaming up with interior designers (like Jenn Hannotte), to create jaw dropping window displays. Best of all, on October 21, we will all be participating in a street party to celebrate all of our creations.

So needless to say, things are heating up around here and ideas are getting crazier and crazier.  So far ideas include having a friend ship us a bunch of antlers from his butcher shop in Red Lake AND teepee/lean-to building on the front stage of the store.  Even though it's not a competition, I swear we are going to rule this thing!

Look out Junction here we come! With power tools and spray paint! (and antlers).

Lemonade Stand FOR REAL

In honour of my working on a Sunday this week (Leah is at a wedding sorry boys!) AND nice weather in the forecast we will be Lemonade Stand-ing for real this Sunday starting at 12, until the lemon juice runs out! I even made a nice sign in a pretty font!

Such a shitty song, you shouldn't really watch this. Sorry xo

Lemonade Stand: Postponed

Hey Y'all.

Leah here. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but unfortunately plans for our lemonade stand have been put on hold because Micah is feeling a little under the weather. Let me tell you, I've seen the sign, the straws, the mass amounts of crepe paper, and it WILL be amazing when it happens. My backyard is still recovering from the party decorations Micah set up for my birthday last month and I mean that in the very best way possible. (I'll post photos soon, promise.)

Anyway, enjoy the sidewalk sale! Come down and see the shop; it's vintage-fur-pelt-weather again (thank heavens) and we've got lots.

Get Well, Micah!!

Lemonade Stand !

This Saturday! Infront of the shop! Give us a reason to build some sort of both/stand, like a Junction Sidewalk Sale, and we will go find the nearest cordless drill STAT.

Previous examples of Russet & Empire's love of booth building are last years hilarious vintage party hat stand 2x4 mess for the Junction Arts Festival (RIP):

and the class act that was the Junction Design Crawl paper moon photo booth:

This Saturday look for a little of the *ahem* craftiness of the first one and the classiness of the second one right in front on the shop and grab some home-made lemonade to take with you around the side walk sale!

Until then,
R&E xoxo

Labour day

I hope you guys all had a nice long weekend investigating an abandoned Odd Fellows Hall! Isn't that what everyone does on Labour Day? Oh, that's just me....
FLT- Friendship Love Truth, verrrrrry mysterious!
Skull and crossbones!

Peep holes on all the doors!

Player piano!

I don't even think that Odd Fellows is a secret society like the masons EVEN THOUGH the peepholes and skull and crossbones tell otherwise.  I looked them up on wikipedia and I couldn't find anything salacious, but I'll bet there are some mysterious tales about those brothers! Can anyone tell me one and make my dreams come true PLEASE?
